AREA OF SPECIALTY: FINANCE (1 Position) – V/ No. AHB/INT/01/2025

a.    Key Responsibilities

The intern will be attached in Home Financing and Investments Sections. The key responsibilities will entail:

i.                 Assist in the design and structuring of home financing products in alignment with the Affordable Housing Act and Regulations;

ii.               Participate in market research to assess the viability and competitiveness of home financing options;

iii.             Confirm the allocation process to ensure transparency and compliance with regulations;

iv.              Support in the review and enforcement of credit policies and risk management frameworks;

v.                Support in tracking loan approvals, disbursements, and repayments;

vi.              Assist in ensuring proper documentation and compliance in loan processing;

vii.            Assist in responding to borrower inquiries and providing accurate information about loan products;

viii.          Support in engaging with clients on payment obligations and offering solutions to repayment challenges;

ix.              Support in documentation and reporting;

x.                Assist in evaluating investment opportunities related to affordable housing; and

xi.              Support in preparing investment reports and recommendations for decision-making.

Job Specification

a.    Academic and Professional Qualifications

b. The following academic and professional qualifications are required for this post:

i.                 Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance), Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution;

ii.               Additional coursework or specialization in Banking, Credit Management, Investment, or Risk Analysis.

iii.             Certification or progress toward CPA (Certified Public Accountant of Kenya).

c.    Skills and competences

i.                 Knowledge of mortgage financing and housing finance structures;

ii.               Understanding of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and investment evaluation;

iii.             Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel (Advanced), QuickBooks, or banking/credit management systems;

iv.              Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills;

v.                Attention to Detail;

vi.              Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
